The bachelor鈥檚 degree in hospitality and tourism management requires 62 credit hours, including 26 semester hours of hospitality and tourism management courses plus core requirements (45 hours), including courses in accounting, business, economics, math, management, and marketing.

Associate of Science in Hospitality & Tourism Management

The associate鈥檚 degree in hospitality and tourism management requires 40 credit hours, including 16 hours of hospitality and tourism management courses plus additional courses in accounting, business, economics, math, management, and marketing.

Internship Opportunities

Internships provide opportunities for students to apply knowledge gained in the classroom while making meaningful contributions to the organization for which they work. Students can complete internships during any semester, though most take place over the summer and last about 10 weeks. With guidance from the Director of Career Services & Student Employment, students develop an internship proposal and gain hands-on experience in their field. Internships also include a reflective journal, a final paper, and relevant research.

Independent Study

Independent Study in Hospitality and Tourism Management allows students to explore topics that are not part of the regular curriculum. Independent study requires students to work closely with a hospitality and tourism management faculty member.

Work-Study Opportunities

Ready to get to work now? Work-study positions are available on campus for students to gain experience in event planning, catering services, lodging, and restaurant operations through D&E鈥檚 Hospitality Services and the Graceland Inn and Restaurant.

In addition, there are opportunities to gain experience through student organizations such as the Hospitality Club and the Campus Activities Board.
