Pathways to Proficiency Certification
Requirements for the certification include:
- World Language 100 and 200 coursework to provide support and guidance in learning 鈥 1 credit hour each
- Certification of Proficiency Level using the Standards-based Assessment to Measure Proficiency (STAMP) assessment in one or more of the following languages: Spanish, German, or French. Study groups and guided practice are available.
Along with completing two 1-hour scheduled courses to support their learning, students participate in a mentored program including face-to-face study groups, guided online practice, and out-of-class informal communications. The STAMP assessment is offered twice during the academic year. Participants may gain an extra 3, 6, 9, or 12 semester hours of credit based on their performance on the STAMP assessment.
